Why Monthly Maintenance Matters
Treat your website as software that runs 24/7, not just as a billboard. Software needs care. WordPress is a fantastic CMS, but it is also one of the most-attacked platforms on the web because it powers more than 43% of all websites.
Every unpatched plugin leaves a door open. Outdated themes are a potential vulnerability. Broken forms cause a lead to exit your funnel. Three months without maintenance, and you are left with a slow, vulnerable website.
One year without maintenance and you are one bad day away from a real problem. Stop that day from arriving with regular check-ups. Call us today at (612) 590-8080.

What's Included in Our Monthly Plans
Every maintenance plan covers the same core fundamentals. Higher tiers add more content-edit time, faster response SLAs, and proactive performance and SEO work.
We update WordPress core, themes, and plugins on a regular schedule. Major updates are tested on staging first to ensure nothing breaks in production. When something does need a fix, we make it without sending a separate invoice.
Every site is backed up every day, with backups retained for 30 days. We run a verified restore test monthly to verify the backups are usable. Most providers do not test restores, but we do.
Every site under maintenance runs behind a web application firewall, receives daily malware scans, and is monitored for suspicious activity. Any red flags are investigated the same day.
We monitor every maintained site 24/7. If your site goes down, we know within 60 seconds and start working immediately to remedy.
Most maintenance providers do not include any content work in their plans. Our plan includes a monthly allowance of content edits, image swaps, blog posts, and copy updates.
We track your site’s Core Web Vitals month over month. You get a clean monthly report covering work completed, uptime statistics, performance metrics, and security events.

What Falls Outside Maintenance Plans
Our website maintenance plans do not include major redesigns, full new page builds, custom development projects, ongoing local SEO campaigns, or paid advertising management. Those are separate services.
If a request goes beyond your monthly allowance, we quote it in writing before doing the work to avoid surprises. For ongoing growth work (such as SEO, content, paid ads, or link building), we have separate monthly retainers or bundled plans that combine maintenance with marketing.
Hosting is the infrastructure your site lives on, like the server. It includes storage, bandwidth, SSL, and an uptime guarantee.
Maintenance is the care the site itself receives, including plugin updates, content edits, security monitoring, performance tuning, and backup verification.
It is best when the two elements work cohesively and one team is accountable for both. That said, you can buy maintenance from us without using our hosting, and vice versa. Bundled pricing is available for clients who select both.

What Happens When Maintenance Gets Ignored
The Maintenance Timeline
6 months
The site is well built. Everything looks great and operates as expected.
12 months
The original developer disappears. The owner gets busy running the business. Maintenance is skipped.
18 months
The site is two versions of WordPress behind. A contact form breaks because a security plugin update changed how it handles spam.
24 Months
The site gets hit by an automated attack scanning for outdated plugins. Now it is offline, redirecting visitors to spam and flagged by Google as malicious.
What to Look For in Any Maintenance Provider
Do they actually run a verified restore test on the backups, or do they take backups and assume they work? Most providers do not test restores.
Who handles a hack if it happens? Is cleanup included, billed separately, or refused?
What is the average first response time during business hours? Anything over one business day is too slow.
Do they include any content edits, or is everything an extra invoice?
Do you get a real monthly report, or just a charge to your credit card with no documentation of what was done?
Our answer is straightforward on all five: yes, included, same day, yes, and yes.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I really need website maintenance?
Yes. If your website matters to your business. WordPress sites that are not actively maintained get slow, vulnerable to hacking, and increasingly out of step with current Google ranking signals. Most maintenance issues are simple fixes when caught early. They are expensive and disruptive when caught late. Maintenance is the cheapest insurance policy a website can have.
2. How much does website maintenance cost in Minnesota?
Our plans start at $95/month for Essentials, $195/month for Standard, and $395/month for Premium. Most clients land on Standard. Bundled plans that combine maintenance with hosting and local SEO start around $1,500/month and scale up to $4,500/month for multi-location or e-commerce clients.
3. Will I work with a real human when something needs fixing?
Yes. Our maintenance clients work with the same small team month after month. Contact us during business hours by phone, email, and our client portal, and 24/7 for hosting emergencies. Average first response time is well under one business day.
4. Can you maintain a WordPress site I built with another agency?
Yes, with one caveat, which is we audit the site first. If the previous developer used questionable plugins, custom code that is not documented, or theme modifications that block updates, we will tell you exactly what we found and what it will take to bring the site up to a maintainable state. We do not take over sites we cannot maintain confidently.
5. How often do you actually log in and do work?
Updates, backup verification, and security monitoring happen every week. Performance and SEO health checks happen monthly. Content edits happen on request, typically within 1–2 business days. You get a monthly report showing exactly what was done.
6. What if I need more content edits than my plan includes?
We quote any work that exceeds your monthly allowance in writing before doing so. If your needs consistently exceed your plan, we will recommend a larger tier. Most clients find that the included allowance is plenty for typical month-to-month updates.
7. Do you maintain WooCommerce and Shopify stores?
Yes. WooCommerce sites typically need the Premium plan because of the higher update cadence, payment-gateway monitoring, and PCI considerations. Shopify maintenance is lighter, but we still recommend monthly content edits, app review, and conversion-rate monitoring on a Standard plan.
8. Can I cancel anytime?
After the initial 90-day setup period, plans are month-to-month with 30 days’ notice. We earn the relationship every month.
9. What's the difference between maintenance and a “managed WordPress” host?
Managed WordPress hosts typically handle some updates and basic backups, but they do not handle content edits, performance tuning, SEO health, broken-link checks, or proactive monitoring of your actual business outcomes. Hosting is infrastructure; maintenance is care. The two are complementary, not interchangeable. We provide both and bundle them when it makes sense.
10. How do I get started?
Call (612) 590-8080 or use the contact form on this page. We will audit your current site for free and identify any issues that should be addressed. The audit helps us recommend the right maintenance plan with written pricing. If you decide to start, the first month covers onboarding and a full audit pass. Everything moving forward is routine and predictable.
